That was one of the main reason's I started freelancing, so that I could take control of my own schedule. What ended up happening for a while is that when I was really busy with the freelancing, there was no time for fiction. When I wasn't busy, I was so worried, trying to drum up more work, that I still didn't work on my fiction! So now I'm setting aside time each week. Right now I have a novel that in its third or so revision, and I'm working with a writing group to polish it off (that REALLY helps establish a deadline. I'm deadline-driven) and send to agents. There are blogs I completely lost track of before I saw the Google Reader light. :) As for querying her - definitely! But the big IF there is if i ever write another fiction project. I've written exactly one short story in the past two years, and though I have a novel idea kicking around in my head (don't we all?), I don't even have it added to my list of goals. That's a shame.
