While I was getting my Master's degree, I did a grant writing internship with a development department and enjoyed learning new skills to put in my writing tool box. But after I left that internship, I found it difficult to find grant writing positions. I think this was mostly because while I'd assisted in writing grants proposals, none of the ones I worked on resulted in awards at the time and those hiring wanted to see proven results.
